Start your own AMSOIL business

Learn how the independent AMSOIL Dealer program works, from dealers who've been at it since December 2001.

The AMSOIL difference: built on quality, not price

AMSOIL founder Al Amatuzio built the company on the same principles that defined his career as a jet fighter squadron commander: excellence, integrity and strong leadership. In 1972, AMSOIL 10W-40 Synthetic Motor Oil became the first synthetic motor oil in the world to meet American Petroleum Institute service requirements. AMSOIL calls itself The First in Synthetics®.

That quality-first approach is still how AMSOIL works today, according to the company:

  • Raw materials are selected for quality and performance, not price.
  • Every product is tested every time it is blended, for consistent quality.
  • Manufacturing is certified to ISO 9001 (quality) and ISO 14001 (environmental) standards.
  • AMSOIL is family-owned, and says it puts customers ahead of maximizing profit.

1973
AMSOIL's independent Dealer network was founded

When AMSOIL introduced its first synthetic motor oil, few consumers knew what synthetic oil was. AMSOIL says its Dealers could explain the benefits better than a product label, and the company grew. AMSOIL products are still distributed through independent Dealers and their retail partners, not big-box stores.

How AMSOIL does it

A business is easier to build when you believe in the product. Here's what AMSOIL says goes into it.

R

Research

AMSOIL runs on-site chemical and mechanical test facilities to develop its synthetic technology.

F

Field testing

Products are validated in long-range studies with taxicabs, fleets, police and emergency vehicles, over-the-road trucks, wind turbines and industrial machinery.

T

Racing is Research™

AMSOIL uses data from racing off-road trucks, stock cars, boats, dirt bikes and snowmobiles to refine its formulations.

What an Independent AMSOIL Dealer does

Dealers are independent business owners. You build customer relationships and provide local service, and AMSOIL handles taking orders, invoicing, collecting payment and shipping products.

Sell and recommend products

Help people find the right AMSOIL products for their vehicles and equipment. Customers can order on AMSOIL.com with your referral number, by phone from AMSOIL, or through you.

Register customers and accounts

Sign up Preferred Customers, plus commercial, installer and retail accounts like shops, farms, fleets and parts stores.

Buy at Dealer pricing

Dealers can buy the full AMSOIL line at Dealer pricing for their own use or to resell. Carrying inventory is optional; AMSOIL can ship directly to your customers.

Optionally build a team

You're not required to sponsor other Dealers. If you do, you become their sponsor and help train and support them, as we do.

Do I have to keep inventory or meet a quota?

No. AMSOIL has no inventory requirements and no sales quotas. You can choose to buy inventory, but it isn't required.

Do I have to recruit other Dealers?

No. Sponsoring other Dealers is optional. According to AMSOIL's Income Disclosure, Dealers earn commissions on product sales, and no money is earned just for recruiting.

Not on marketplaces or with posted prices. AMSOIL Dealers direct customers to AMSOIL.com with their referral number, and AMSOIL handles the order.

Where can I be a Dealer?

You can join from anywhere in the US. AMSOIL's Dealer program is open to people in the United States and Canada, and we sponsor and support Dealers remotely as well as locally.
